Sensual baroque in red and gold
 

For Sylvi Pasquier, flowers are but as many symbols of the permanent renewal of life, and it is with great vitality that she has represented them in her recent paintings. The monumentality of the drawing, the effect of radiant colours, all contribute to this expression. A bright red radiates all the compositions further enhanced by a background in the same tones highlighted with gold. In this new series proposed by Sylvi Pasquier, red is the colour of choice. As a composer, the artist orchestrates the whole range in a complex symphony. In this playing ensemble, colours are deployed with a powerful energy.
